  1. ਆਦੇਸੁ ਤਿਸੈ ਆਦੇਸੁ ॥

    Humbly bow to Divine, who is the primal, immaculate, without beginning, indestructible and unchanging through the ages.

  2. ਆਦਿ ਅਨੀਲੁ ਅਨਾਦਿ ਅਨਾਹਤਿ ਜੁਗੁ ਜੁਗੁ ਏਕੋ ਵੇਸੁ ॥੨੯॥

    Humbly bow to Divine, who is the primal, immaculate, without beginning, indestructible and unchanging through the ages.

  3. ਏਕਾ ਮਾਈ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਵਿਆਈ ਤਿਨਿ ਚੇਲੇ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥

    According to mythological Hindu beliefs, Maya mysteriously conceived and gave birth to three sons (deities).

  4. ਇਕੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਇਕੁ ਭੰਡਾਰੀ ਇਕੁ ਲਾਏ ਦੀਬਾਣੁ ॥

    One is believed to be the creator of the world, one the sustainer and another one the destroyer.

  5. ਜਿਵ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਵੈ ਚਲਾਵੈ ਜਿਵ ਹੋਵੈ ਫੁਰਮਾਣੁ ॥

    Divine directs our path as He wills; everything that happens is according to His divine command.

  6. ਓਹੁ ਵੇਖੈ ਓਨਾ ਨਦਰਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਬਹੁਤਾ ਏਹੁ ਵਿਡਾਣੁ ॥

    Divine is everywhere and is constantly observing everything, yet most people are unable to perceive Him

  7. ਆਦੇਸੁ ਤਿਸੈ ਆਦੇਸੁ ॥

    Humbly surrender to the Divine, who is primal, immaculate, without beginning, indestructible and unchanging through the ages.

  8. ਆਦਿ ਅਨੀਲੁ ਅਨਾਦਿ ਅਨਾਹਤਿ ਜੁਗੁ ਜੁਗੁ ਏਕੋ ਵੇਸੁ ॥੩੦॥

    Humbly surrender to the Divine, who is primal, immaculate, without beginning, indestructible and unchanging through the ages.

  9. ਆਸਣੁ ਲੋਇ ਲੋਇ ਭੰਡਾਰ ॥

    Divine is present in the entire universe and the universe is full of His bounties.

  10. ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸੁ ਏਕਾ ਵਾਰ ॥

    Whatever bounties He has put in the universe, He has put these once for all.

  11. ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਵੇਖੈ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰੁ ॥

    Having created the universe, Divine is looking after His creation.

  12. ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚੇ ਕੀ ਸਾਚੀ ਕਾਰ ॥

    O’ Nanak, Divine’s system of sustaining His creation is perfect and flawless.

  13. ਆਦੇਸੁ ਤਿਸੈ ਆਦੇਸੁ ॥

    Humbly surrender to the Divine, who is the source of everything, immaculate, without beginning, indestructible and unchanging through the ages.

  14. ਆਦਿ ਅਨੀਲੁ ਅਨਾਦਿ ਅਨਾਹਤਿ ਜੁਗੁ ਜੁਗੁ ਏਕੋ ਵੇਸੁ ॥੩੧॥

    Humbly surrender to the Divine, who is the source of everything, immaculate, without beginning, indestructible and unchanging through the ages.

  15. ਇਕ ਦੂ ਜੀਭੌ ਲਖ ਹੋਹਿ ਲਖ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਲਖ ਵੀਸ ॥

    If instead of one tongue, one had hundred thousand tongues and even twenty times more, and if Divine’s Name is recited millions of times with each tongue.

  16. ਲਖੁ ਲਖੁ ਗੇੜਾ ਆਖੀਅਹਿ ਏਕੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਗਦੀਸ ॥

    If instead of one tongue, one had hundred thousand tongues and even twenty times more, and if Divine’s Name is recited millions of times with each tongue.

  17. ਏਤੁ ਰਾਹਿ ਪਤਿ ਪਵੜੀਆ ਚੜੀਐ ਹੋਇ ਇਕੀਸ ॥

    On this path, one climbs the steps to honor, becoming one with the Divine, achieving true union and spiritual elevation.

  18. ਸੁਣਿ ਗਲਾ ਆਕਾਸ ਕੀ ਕੀਟਾ ਆਈ ਰੀਸ ॥

    After listening about the spiritually awakened people, the lowly persons wish to emulate them as if the worms wish to fly like birds.

  19. ਨਾਨਕ ਨਦਰੀ ਪਾਈਐ ਕੂੜੀ ਕੂੜੈ ਠੀਸ ॥੩੨॥

    O’ Nanak, Divine is realized only by His grace, all false boasts and worldly pretensions are ultimately worthless.

  20. ਆਖਣਿ ਜੋਰੁ ਚੁਪੈ ਨਹ ਜੋਰੁ ॥

    We do not have any power by ourselves to speak or to remain silent

  21. ਜੋਰੁ ਨ ਮੰਗਣਿ ਦੇਣਿ ਨ ਜੋਰੁ ॥

    We have neither the power to ask nor to give, we get what is destined for us and the spirit of giving comes by Divine’s blessings.

  22. ਜੋਰੁ ਨ ਜੀਵਣਿ ਮਰਣਿ ਨਹ ਜੋਰੁ ॥

    Life and death too are not in our control.

  23. ਜੋਰੁ ਨ ਰਾਜਿ ਮਾਲਿ ਮਨਿ ਸੋਰੁ ॥

    Acquiring power and worldly wealth, which cause ego in our mind, is beyond our control.

  24. ਜੋਰੁ ਨ ਸੁਰਤੀ ਗਿਆਨਿ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ॥

    We have no power to achieve spiritual awakening, knowledge or thinking.

  25. ਜੋਰੁ ਨ ਜੁਗਤੀ ਛੁਟੈ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥

    We have no power to escape from worldly temptations.

  26. ਜਿਸੁ ਹਥਿ ਜੋਰੁ ਕਰਿ ਵੇਖੈ ਸੋਇ ॥

    Divine alone who has the Power to create and take care of creation.

  27. ਨਾਨਕ ਉਤਮੁ ਨੀਚੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥੩੩॥

    O’ Nanak, no one is high or low. All are created equal in the eyes of Divine.

  28. ਰਾਤੀ ਰੁਤੀ ਥਿਤੀ ਵਾਰ ॥

    The nights, seasons, lunar days, week days, wind, water, fire and the nether regions,

  29. ਪਵਣ ਪਾਣੀ ਅਗਨੀ ਪਾਤਾਲ ॥

    The nights, seasons, lunar days, week days, wind, water, fire and the nether regions,

  30. ਤਿਸੁ ਵਿਚਿ ਧਰਤੀ ਥਾਪਿ ਰਖੀ ਧਰਮ ਸਾਲ ॥

    in the midst of all these, Divine established the earth as a stage for humans to perform righteous deeds for their spiritual growth.

  31. ਤਿਸੁ ਵਿਚਿ ਜੀਅ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਕੇ ਰੰਗ ॥

    On this stage reside beings of various species and forms.

  32. ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਅਨੇਕ ਅਨੰਤ ॥

    whose names are countless and endless.

  33. ਕਰਮੀ ਕਰਮੀ ਹੋਇ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ॥

    Human beings are judged based on their deeds.

  34. ਸਚਾ ਆਪਿ ਸਚਾ ਦਰਬਾਰੁ ॥

    Divine Himself is true, and true is His justice.

  35. ਤਿਥੈ ਸੋਹਨਿ ਪੰਚ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥

    In that realm, the accepted and spiritually awakened souls shine brightly, radiant with divine grace.

  36. ਨਦਰੀ ਕਰਮਿ ਪਵੈ ਨੀਸਾਣੁ ॥

    By Divine's grace and glance, one receives the divine mark of acceptance and honor, leading to liberation.

  37. ਕਚ ਪਕਾਈ ਓਥੈ ਪਾਇ ॥

    Success or failure in terms of spiritual growth is judged in Divine’s presence.

  38. ਨਾਨਕ ਗਇਆ ਜਾਪੈ ਜਾਇ ॥੩੪॥

    O’ Nanak, it is only upon reaching Divine’s Presence that one discovers if one succeeded or failed.

  39. ਧਰਮ ਖੰਡ ਕਾ ਏਹੋ ਧਰਮੁ ॥

    This is the spiritual law of the Realm of Righteousness, where beings are judged on their actions.

  40. ਗਿਆਨ ਖੰਡ ਕਾ ਆਖਹੁ ਕਰਮੁ ॥

    Nanak says in Realm of Knowledge, the stage of acquiring divine knowledge.

  41. ਕੇਤੇ ਪਵਣ ਪਾਣੀ ਵੈਸੰਤਰ ਕੇਤੇ ਕਾਨ ਮਹੇਸ ॥

    The Divine’s creation is so vast that there are so many forms of winds, waters and fires; so many Divine forms as Krishnas and Shivas.

  42. ਕੇਤੇ ਬਰਮੇ ਘਾੜਤਿ ਘੜੀਅਹਿ ਰੂਪ ਰੰਗ ਕੇ ਵੇਸ ॥

    Countless are the Brahmas created in diverse forms, shapes, and appearances, all made by the Divine.

  43. ਕੇਤੀਆ ਕਰਮ ਭੂਮੀ ਮੇਰ ਕੇਤੇ ਕੇਤੇ ਧੂ ਉਪਦੇਸ ॥

    Countless are the Earths and cosmic mountains; countless are the Dhruvas (devotees) and their spiritual teachings.

  44. ਕੇਤੇ ਇੰਦ ਚੰਦ ਸੂਰ ਕੇਤੇ ਕੇਤੇ ਮੰਡਲ ਦੇਸ ॥

    Countless are the Indras, moons, suns, and endless are the worlds and universes Divine created.

  45. ਕੇਤੇ ਸਿਧ ਬੁਧ ਨਾਥ ਕੇਤੇ ਕੇਤੇ ਦੇਵੀ ਵੇਸ ॥

    Countless are the spiritually perfected, the enlightened, the yogis, and the divine goddesses, all manifestations of the One.

  46. ਕੇਤੇ ਦੇਵ ਦਾਨਵ ਮੁਨਿ ਕੇਤੇ ਕੇਤੇ ਰਤਨ ਸਮੁੰਦ ॥

    Countless are the gods, demons, sages, and countless are the jewels and oceans of those jewels.

  47. ਕੇਤੀਆ ਖਾਣੀ ਕੇਤੀਆ ਬਾਣੀ ਕੇਤੇ ਪਾਤ ਨਰਿੰਦ ॥

    Countless are the life forms, languages, and countless are the kings and rulers, all created by Divine.

  48. ਕੇਤੀਆ ਸੁਰਤੀ ਸੇਵਕ ਕੇਤੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਅੰਤੁ ॥੩੫॥

    There are so many people who meditate, so many selfless servants: O’ Nanak, there is no end to the creation of Divine.

  49. ਗਿਆਨ ਖੰਡ ਮਹਿ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਪਰਚੰਡੁ ॥

    In the Realm of Knowledge, divine wisdom becomes supreme, overpowering all other worldly thoughts and attachments.

  50. ਤਿਥੈ ਨਾਦ ਬਿਨੋਦ ਕੋਡ ਅਨੰਦੁ ॥

    In that state of divine knowledge, there is pure spiritual music, joy, and the bliss of Divine presence.
