Ang 184

  1. ਜਨ ਕੀ ਟੇਕ ਏਕ ਗੋਪਾਲ ॥

    God becomes the only support for such a devotee.

  2. ਏਕਾ ਲਿਵ ਏਕੋ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਉ ॥

    Such a devotee becomes attuned to God and his mind is filled with love for God.

  3. ਸਰਬ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਜਨ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਉ ॥੩॥

    For that devotee, God’s Name becomes all (kinds of) treasures.

  4. ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਗੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥

    He is imbued with the love of God.

  5. ਨਿਰਮਲ ਕਰਣੀ ਸਾਚੀ ਰੀਤਿ ॥

    That devotee’s deeds become immaculate, and the conduct becomes truthful.

  6. ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਮੇਟਿਆ ਅੰਧਿਆਰਾ ॥

    The Perfect Guru has dispelled the darkness of ignorance from his mind.

  7. ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪਰ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥੪॥੨੪॥੯੩॥

    Nanak’s God is Incomparable and Infinite.

  8. ਗਉੜੀ ਗੁਆਰੇਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

    Raag Gauree Gwaarayree, by the Fifth Guru:

  9. ਜਿਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਤਰੈ ਜਨੁ ਸੋਇ ॥

    The one in whose mind dwells God, he swims across the worldly ocean of vices.

  10. ਜਾ ਕੈ ਕਰਮਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥

    By God’s grace, when one realizes Him, then pain, disease and fear do not affect him at all.

  11. ਦੂਖੁ ਰੋਗੁ ਕਛੁ ਭਉ ਨ ਬਿਆਪੈ ॥

    Because he always remembers the nectar-like God’s Name in his heart .

  12. ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਪੈ ॥੧॥

    Because he always remembers the nectar-like God’s Name in his heart .

  13. ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਰਮੇਸੁਰੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥

    We should always remember the all pervading God with love and devotion.

  14. ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਤੇ ਇਹ ਮਤਿ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

    This understanding is obtained from the perfect Guru.

  15. ਕਰਣ ਕਰਾਵਨਹਾਰ ਦਇਆਲ ॥

    The Merciful God is the Doer, and the Cause of causes.

  16. ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਗਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲ ॥

    He cherishes and nurtures all beings and creatures.

  17. ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਸਦਾ ਬੇਅੰਤਾ ॥

    He is Inaccessible, Incomprehensible, Eternal and Infinite.

  18. ਸਿਮਰਿ ਮਨਾ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਮੰਤਾ ॥੨॥

    Meditate on Him, O my mind, through the Teachings of the Perfect Guru.

  19. ਜਾ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਸਰਬ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ॥

    Remembering Him with loving devotion, all treasures are obtained.

  20. ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਪਾਈਐ ਮਾਨੁ ॥

    Worshipping God, honor is obtained.

  21. ਜਾ ਕੀ ਟਹਲ ਨ ਬਿਰਥੀ ਜਾਇ ॥

    Serving His creation never goes to waste).

  22. ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ॥੩॥

    forever and ever, sing the Glorious Praises of God. ||3

  23. ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥

    O’ God, the inner knower of minds, please bestow mercy.

  24. ਸੁਖ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਹਰਿ ਅਲਖ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥

    O’ The treasure of peace comforts and incomprehensible Master.

  25. ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥

    All beings and creatures seek Your Sanctuary.

  26. ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥੪॥੨੫॥੯੪॥

    O’ Nanak, (pray to God) that I may be blessed with Your Naam which is an honor for me.

  27. ਗਉੜੀ ਗੁਆਰੇਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

    Raag Gauree Gwaarayree, by the Fifth Guru:

  28. ਜੀਅ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਹੈ ਹਾਥ ॥

    (O’ my friend), in whose hand is the way of life of all beings.

  29. ਸੋ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਅਨਾਥ ਕੋ ਨਾਥੁ ॥

    Remember that the Master of the masterless with loving devotion.

  30. ਪ੍ਰਭ ਚਿਤਿ ਆਏ ਸਭੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਜਾਇ ॥

    By remembering God with loving devotion, all sorrows depart.

  31. ਭੈ ਸਭ ਬਿਨਸਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਨਾਇ ॥੧॥

    All fears are dispelled through the Name of God.

  32. ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਭਉ ਕਾਹੇ ਕਾ ਮਾਨਹਿ ॥

    Why do you fear anyone else except God?

  33. ਹਰਿ ਬਿਸਰਤ ਕਾਹੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਜਾਨਹਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

    By forgetting God, what kind of peace do you get?

  34. ਜਿਨਿ ਧਾਰੇ ਬਹੁ ਧਰਣਿ ਅਗਾਸ ॥

    He, who has supported the many earths and skies.

  35. ਜਾ ਕੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਜੀਅ ਪਰਗਾਸ ॥

    With whose light our soul is illuminated.

  36. ਜਾ ਕੀ ਬਖਸ ਨ ਮੇਟੈ ਕੋਇ ॥

    Whose blessings no one can revoke.

  37. ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਹੋਇ ॥੨॥

    The one who always remembers that God, become fearless from worldly fears.

  38. ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਮੁ ॥

    (O’ my friend), at all times, keep remembering God’s Name with loving devotion.

  39. ਅਨਿਕ ਤੀਰਥ ਮਜਨੁ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ॥

    Remembering God with loving devotion is like bathing at many holy places.

  40. ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕੀ ਸਰਣੀ ਪਾਹਿ ॥

    If you seek the Sanctuary of the Supreme God.

  41. ਕੋਟਿ ਕਲੰਕ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਮਿਟਿ ਜਾਹਿ ॥੩॥

    Then millions of ypur sins shall be erased in an instant.

  42. ਬੇਮੁਹਤਾਜੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹੁ ॥

    The Perfect King (God) is self-sufficient.

  43. ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੇਵਕ ਸਾਚਾ ਵੇਸਾਹੁ ॥

    God’s servant has true faith in Him.

  44. ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਰਾਖੇ ਦੇ ਹਾਥ ॥

    God protects His devotees, through the perfect Guru.

  45. ਨਾਨਕ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਸਮਰਾਥ ॥੪॥੨੬॥੯੫॥

    O Nanak, the Supreme God is All-powerful.

  46. ਗਉੜੀ ਗੁਆਰੇਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

    Raag Gauree Gwaarayree, by the Fifth Guru:

  47. ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਗਾ ॥

    By Guru’s Grace, my mind is attached to the Naam, the Name of God.

  48. ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕਾ ਸੋਇਆ ਜਾਗਾ ॥

    Asleep (immersed in the love of Maya) for so many incarnations, it is now awakened (enlightened with the true wisdom).

  49. ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਗੁਣ ਉਚਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਾਣੀ ॥

    I chant the Ambrosial Bani, the Glorious Praises of God.

  50. ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੁਮਤਿ ਪਰਾਣੀ ॥੧॥

    My mind has realized the sublime wisdom of the perfect Guru.

  51. ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਕੁਸਲ ਸਭਿ ਪਾਏ ॥

    By remembering God with love and devotion, I have found total peace.

  52. ਘਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜ ਸਬਾਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

    Now, there is peace and poise both within my mind and outside.

  53. ਸੋਈ ਪਛਾਤਾ ਜਿਨਹਿ ਉਪਾਇਆ ॥

    I have realized the One who has created me.

  54. ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥

    Showing His Mercy, God has merged me with Himself.

  55. ਬਾਹ ਪਕਰਿ ਲੀਨੋ ਕਰਿ ਅਪਨਾ ॥

    Taking me by the arm,(granting His protection), He has made me His Own.

  56. ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਸਦਾ ਜਪੁ ਜਪਨਾ ॥੨॥

    So, now I continually recite the praises of God.

  57. ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਤੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਅਉਖਧੁ ਪੁਨਹਚਾਰੁ ॥

    I have realized that all the Mantras, tantras, all-curing medicines and acts of atonement are contained in God’s Name,
